Ultra distance mountain challenges – tips and tales

What is ultra running? Anything longer than marathon distance. Note that in the hills that feels a very long way!

What are mountain challenges? The epic adventures which are there waiting for you to attempt any time- the Bob Graham Round in the Lake District being the archetypal example, but there are many others, of differing lengths. Also the big UK races, such as the Dragon’s Back Race or Lakeland 100 which link mountain summits or include a lot of elevation.

This website covers advice and coaching for those challenges, a blog of my own running adventures, and an attempt to rank the long runs I have completed in order of difficulty.
